Ohio Bipartisan Job Stimulus Plan - Bioproducts Industry
This Bioproduct Job Stimulus Program will develop and expand the State of Ohio's emerging bioproducts industry and launch Ohio onto the international bioproduct scene by leveraging the state's tremendous private, public, and academic assets. Ohio is a leader in the agricultural, polymer, chemicals, and advanced materials industries. By aligning these industrial sectors, the state is poised to be a world leader in a new market - products made from biobased materials. Facing increasing costs (and decreasing consistent supply) of petroleum, the time is right for Ohio to focus on our strengths in biobased materials to replace or improve upon traditional petroeum - based feedstocks. With our research expertise in this field, as well as our strong agriculture industry, this investment will solidify Ohio as a national leader in bioproducts. With Ohio's natural strengths in the area, we cannot pass up this opportunity to create high value jobs and continue as the leader in the bioproducts industry.
